Don't be Desperate

When you start promoting yourself, giving yourself that edge to engage with others about your value, it's good to make your point across and land a potential relationship. BUT NEVER BE DESPERATE. Once you have an approach to your audience, be calm and relaxed. Nothing has to be rushed because at the end of the day, you have a mission to have a healthy conversation about each other and see how you both can help each other get to a goal, or exchange value. Being desperate shows your just trying to come up on big dollars, streams, or clout. Having big clout, big views, and money is great, but you must interact in a way where if the person doesn't like your proposal say, 'Hey it's all good, can probably work out something another time, but I got some more business calls to do I thank you for your time today," and move on. It's not what you request, It's how you request it and move on. This will make your value go up because now you are speaking as a professional, a person with experience, and making it clear that you have more business to worry about if things don't workout. I want you to take a good look at Don Vito Corleone in "the Godfather," look at how he talks to people, and communicate with his peers, very relaxed, calm, and precise.
